Jaanus Tehver graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu in 1998 and began his career as an attorney the same year. In 2004 he was awarded a diploma in the European Union law by the London King’s College.
His main fields of expertise include criminal proceedings and penal law, but he also has extensive experience in administrative (planning, building, energy, public procurement, etc.), insurance and IT law.
In addition to his everyday work as an attorney, Jaanus also actively contributes to the development of the regulations of penal law and criminal proceedings by participating in the drawing up of draft laws and being a member of the penal law working group of the Ministry of Justice.
Jaanus has a unique experience and contact network in international penal law, which he has obtained through his long-term participation in the activities of various international organisations (European Criminal Bar Association, CCBE Criminal Law Committee, and Fair Trials).
Since 2010 Jaanus has been a member of the Board of the Estonian Bar Association and currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of the same.
Jaanus provides services in Estonian and English, and also understands and speaks Finnish.
